DIVERSITY IN HOUSTON GUIDE
Richard Evans

Return

Ideally, the notion of diversity suggests that individual differences should be respected, and that differences are a source of strength. Despite numerous ethnic differences and the ever-present potential for inter-group tension that these differences entail, the Houston area’s diverse residents have been able to get along. How have people of different backgrounds learned to work together, and managed to improve their city? This curriculum unit explores this question, realizing that the long term well being of Houston’s residents will be largely shaped by their ability to forge a common agenda -- a partnership for the future.
