This curriculum unit explores the uses of ethnomusicology in the elementary classroom. More specifically, the unit guides the teacher through a process of helping students learn about their own ethnic identity while gaining appreciation and value for other cultures and ethnicities through music. The unit culminates in a museum in which students present what they've learned and perform in a concert. The teacher does not need prior knowledge or formal skills in music, just interest!
