The name of my unit is "Alike and Different: My Houston Home." This unit will give students an opportunity to observe and appreciate the similarities and differences of individuals, building structures, cultures, and lifestyles. This unit is integrated in order to maximize student learning. The subjects covered are Social Studies, Math, Reading, Writing and ESL (English as a second language). In order to reach students of all learning styles, I have incorporated many hands-on activities throughout the lessons. As a bilingual teacher, I want students to learn to acceptance and tolerance towards one another. I also want them to be proud of who they are and to love their heritage and family.
