Having a somewhat current atomic theory in place is an essential mental organizational tool for anyone wishing to think scientifically. In order to help students acquire this important mindset, it is necessary to provide a learning environment where ideas about the atom can logically progress from their simplest to their most complex form. In this unit we attempt to encourage the development of an atomic theory that will allow students to think about objective phenomena in an understandable way.
