This unit focuses on the study of Impressionism from the concept of Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences. Two of the significant figures of the period, Monet and his art, and Debussy and his music, are the principal subjects. Synaesthesia, or crossmodality of the senses, is discussed from the point of view of artists and musicians and the link between the two genres. The lesson plans, designed with interdisciplinary objectives and implications for technology, offer varied cognitive levels for exploration. These objectives include correlations with art, music, language arts, social studies, science, math, and technology.
