Requirements

In applying to become a Fellow of the Institute, each teacher agrees to participate fully in program activities by:

• Attending all seminar meetings (the Institute emphasizes that regular attendance at seminars is expected of all Institute Fellows) and the January Convocation.
• Researching both the seminar subject and the curriculum unit topic.
• Meeting due dates in preparing a curriculum unit consistent with the Institute's curriculum unit guidelines.
• Submitting a written evaluation of the program.

Teachers who meet these expectations become Institute Fellows and members of the University of Houston community for the length of the seminar term, which runs from January through June, with a parking permit on campus, borrowing privileges at the University libraries, and access to University email and computing services. A $1,000 honorarium is given to Fellows who complete the Institute term and requirements.
